Travels to Wyoming

Well here's my first blog of my life...and of this summer. I left yesterday from good old Fargo and began my long trek to Wyoming. It was a long road but when I got to WY it was amazing. When I crossed that state line my fears and reservations melted away into excitement. As I drove through this beautiful state I was signing my heart out and suddenly I realized I was out of breath which seemed weird. I couldn't figure out what was happening and it seemed like my heart was starting to speed up. As this continued it occurred to me that I had been continuously going uphill and not seeming to come down as far as I had gone up on the other side. I didn't think I could be that high though and then all of a sudden I came over the top of a hill and the view literally to my breathe away. I hadn't seen anything like it before. Off in the distance were snow capped mountains that seemed to be not so far off. In my driving without even realizing I had come up in elevation quite a bit and it was beautiful up there. I continued to Casper and every mile that I drove the scenery became more and more beautiful. Now here I sit in my wonderful hotel room in Casper eating pizza on my bed. Out my window there are snowcapped mountains that I have a strong urge to find time to climb this week. We'll see, maybe I'll make a friend that will venture with me. That's all I have for now! I'll leave you with the few pictures that I stopped and took on my way!

This is the view from the first rest area I could find to stop in WY. This picture doesn't even do the view justice!

Another beautiful view from one of the pull off areas along the Interstate.
It was raining so the picture's kinda fuzzy.
The mountains by Casper off in the distance.
A beautiful view to drive towards!
This is the view from my hotel room!

  1. Thanks for sharing the pics. Uncle Pete says you are in his favorite State. Hope your 1st day goes well and you make some connections with your fellow Interns. Love Mom

  2. I know, isn't that area just gorgeous? Leah and I drove through WY just briefly on our way to Santa Fe last year and I've been to Yellowstone, which is also amazing. I love the mountains. I know from going to NM that driving is good because it helps acclimate you to the high elevation better than flying. Anyway, I'm glad you're excited! Enjoy the beautiful scenery!
